Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cook book writer and Emmy award winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 and aired 27 seasons until 2020. Ina began her career in the White House for the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy reports. Though she found the career fascinating initially, in the end she lost her interest in it and leased a small, specialty food store - Barefoot Contessa. They spent 18 years making the store extremely successful before selling it off and grabbing a pen to start her first book. Numerous other books as well as journal articles followed.
